In Case You Missed It
Here are the top news stories from 2008:

*The Overwatch Geospatial Users' Conference in April offered attendees a chance to view the entire Overwatch Geospatial product line. Mike Diller won the AFE Analyst of the Year award.

*RoadTracker, designed by GeoEye and released by Overwatch Geospatial, debuted in June. To download a trial version, click here.

*Overwatch attended the ESRI International User Conference in August and offered training and informational classes during the event. A user group meeting showcased current feature extraction projects using Feature Analyst, LIDAR Analyst and Urban Analyst. New tools from the planned 5.0 release were also previewed. Free training was offered as well, to help attendees develop feature extraction skills to build, analyze and publish a 3D city model.

*Training classes in Feature Analyst, LIDAR Analyst and Urban Analyst were held in Sterling, Virginia, in September. Classes offered beginning and advanced level instruction. For more information on training opportunities, visit our training page.

*Overwatch Geospatial attended GeoINT 2008. In a collaboration with AAI, another of Textron's subsidiaries, Overwatch presented numerous demo offerings and an unmanned aerial vehicle. Photos of the event can be seen here.

*Overwatch Geospatial participated in GIS Day on November 19 in a partnership with spectrUM, a local interactive science center in Missoula. More than one hundred students from an area middle school participated in hands-on activities demonstrating the use of GIS in everyday life. How Do You Use Feature Analyst?

After a couple of months of collecting users' application stories, we would like to share them with you. We will be featuring one application each month. To share how you are using Overwatch Geospatial's products, visit our survey site, or email Marilyn Lee for more information.

User: United States Military Academy
Products: Feature Analyst and LIDAR Analyst
Application: Feature Analyst was used by a cadet in an independent research project to extract rock features from imagery. Feature Analyst is currently being used in the Advanced Remote Sensing course to demonstrate feature extraction.

LIDAR Analyst is used in the academy's Remote Sensing course to demonstrate lidar processing. It is also employed to process aerial lidar data collected with the Army's Buckeye system.
