Overwatch Geospatial announces the release of RoadTracker^TM as an extension to its award-winning feature-extraction program, Feature Analyst^®. RoadTracker accelerates the collection of roads and other linear features from satellite and aerial imagery. RoadTracker works by having an analyst click on two ends of a linear feature (such as a road) and the software automatically traces the centerline of the feature between these two endpoints, curves and all. RoadTracker also includes automatic feature attribution, and other ‘smart editing’ tools that save time and money by greatly improving speed, accuracy, and workflow when collecting map-quality linear features. With our release of RoadTracker with GeoEye, I would like to emphasize the importance of company partnerships within the feature extraction field. We have worked with GeoEye for several years, and they have built upon the VLS API a product that will benefit the road collection process immensely.
